Then at the end, enter the Rafflecopter to say you've commented to be entered for the Grand Prizes which are just spectacular. More on that following the post.
Since we're taking a trip "out of this world" for this hop, I want to talk about faster-than-light travel and why I love it even if it isn't practical given current laws of physics. I love the idea of exploring the galaxy, even moving beyond our galaxy to explore the rest of the universe. Can you just imagine all the cool stuff out there to see? New suns and planets, black holes, dust clouds... So many exciting things to explore.
To do this requires traveling across huge expanses of space, so we'd need some way of getting around pretty damned fast. At the moment, the only way we can do this is through fiction. So I'm all for FTL drives and warp speed and jumping through hyperspace and whatever else an author uses to get her characters out exploring the greater universe. There are just too many adventures to have to be stuck behind the speed of light!
In my Naravan Chronicles, my characters "jump" through hyperspace, using a type of space warping technology. And the ability to do that has taken humans into some really cool places. They've met alien species, colonized new planets, gotten into trouble, and in general gone back to their explorer instincts. All because they have the technology to fly among the stars. Just the thought of it thrills me.
So here's to hoping, in time, we find a way to break the speed of light barrier and take ourselves out of this world. If I'm still around, I'll be in line with all the other explorers.
Now as a reminder here are the Grand Prizes for the hop:
